BOCA RATON, Fla. – Returning to Sunshine State Conference action, the Nova Southeastern men's and women's swim teams topped the Lynn Fighting Knights on Friday afternoon in the McCusker Pool Complex. The Sharks women's team has yet to be beat this season, while the men's only loss comes from NCAA Div. I Florida Gators.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the 200 medley relay, the women's team of Cassandra Wright, Caily Friel, Sasha Maslova and Jenna Johns earned the win in 1:45.94, while the men's team of Aleksei Averchenko, Alessandro Xella, Magnus Poulsen and Jonathan Yanello grabbed first place with a time of 1:33.89.
- To wrap up the meet, the 200 freestyle relays on both sides topped the competition. Elizabeth Zubero, Solana Capalbo, Laurel Fink and Hannah Trieschmann finished in first place with a time of 1:38.94 for the women while Poulsen, Averchenko, Martin Hemminghyth and Yanello won in 1:24.81.
TOP INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS:
- Emma Sundstedt earned the first win of the day for NSU in the 1000 freestyle, posting a time of 10:35.04. Caleb Fell also won the event on the men's side with a time of 9:45.07. Sundstedt also won the 500 freestyle in 5:09.59.
- In the women's 200 freestyle, Capalbo grabbed the win in 1:56.71 and Jake Gauvain won in 1:46.42 for the men.
- Johns and Yanello also won both sides of the 50 free, recording times of 24.19 and 21.54, respectively.
- In the 400 IM, Maslova grabbed first with her time of 4:27.32 on the women's side while Sam Brettmann finished first in 4:05.12. Maslova also went on to win the 100 butterfly in 56.59.
- Poulsen also picked up the win in the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.83.
- In the 100 freestyle, Johns won the women's side in 52.38 and Lliam Dolan won for the men in 48.71.
- The Sharks grabbed wins on both sides of the 100 backstroke, as well, as Wright and Hemminghyth registered winning times of 56.32 and 53.77, respectively.
- Xella earned a win in the 100 breaststroke with his time of 59.34 to close out the individual events.

The Sharks will compete next at the NSU Aquatic Center on Nov. 9, hosting the Tampa Spartans at 10:00 a.m.
